Happy Christmas from

Your organisation here

Instead of sending Christmas cards this year we are making a donation to Corporate Goat projects.

Build a school for £5500, recruit a teacher for street children for £230 p.a., fund a community business for £60 or get a child out of the mines and into school for £50. Every single organisation can have a direct impact on poverty. Everyone can play a part in making our world a fairer place.

In 2007 The Corporate Goat partners funded the construction of 5 primary schools with vegetable gardens; vegetable gardens for 51 existing schools so that 7,900 hungry children will receive a meal each day; a shop and stock as an income generation and work experience project for a childrens’ home; 20 micro-finance packages for community businesses; vocational training for 50 children leaving the mines; a clean water supply for a remote, poverty-stricken village; 5 teachers for street children; the re-building of 6 family homes after severe floods, and much, much, more...

About micro-finance grants

Micro-finance grants, literally, help extremely poor people take the first important step onto the ladder that allows them to climb out of poverty. Income generation projects vary widely - from breeding pigs, goats, sheep, guinea fowl and other livestock to a wide range of small businesses such as hairdressing, weaving, production of foodstuffs, and a wide variety crafts, furniture and shop fittings. Local people know what they can sell; they just need help to take that first all important step that will enable them to help themselves.

Micro-finance grants are given in the form of interest free loans. Repayment schedules are agreed and almost always delivered. Once the money is re-paid, it is given as a loan to another family - so the loans contributed by your organisation will, eventually, help many more poor families. The loans also have a knock on effect in income generation within the community as people buy and sell.
